The best way to get to know Ecuador is to visit its natural areas. This time we will follow a trail in the foothills of the mythical Tungurahua volcano, a mountain that the locals call "Mama Tungurahua", ands a volcanic edifice 5020 m high with a basal diameter of 16 km, its eruptions created avalanches that outcrop in the valleys of the Chambo and Patate rivers. The last geological activity of Tungurahua would have begun with the emission of the great lava flow approximately 2300 years ago.

DETAILS

• 7:00 The trip starts in the city of Riobamba (2754 meters above sea level), we pick you up from the hotel where you are staying.

• On the slopes of the Tungurahua volcano we visit the Tambo waterfall, a magnificent waterfall of approximately 30 m high.
• The hike begins towards the thermal baths of the eye of the ghost, a journey of approximately 2 km, on the way we will enjoy more waterfalls, and nature of the place.
• If you are adventurous you can enjoy the hot springs that emerge from the bowels of the volcano, these are considered miraculous and healing waters.
• We will also visit the famous ghost eye.
• 13:00 We return to the base and move to the Penipe canton to taste the traditional gastronomy.  
• 15:00 We return to the city of Riobamba where the adventure ends.
