Chimborazo Tours takes you to Baños de Agua Santa, a wonderful city to share with family, friends and adventurous couples. During the tour to Baños, you will visit the tree house, the swing at the end of the world, different waterfalls, among them, the Manto de la novia and the Pailón del Diablo. You will be able to practice extreme sports and visit the candy factory; simply an enchanting experience.

We invite you to visit the Baños de Agua Santa,  the gateway to the Amazon basin. An ideal place to practice extreme sports and  pure adrenaline. 

On the second day of the tour we will visit Archidona and Tena.Here you will know the mysterious caverns of Jumandy, a journey under the bowels of the earth, and above all, you will live the Amazon culture walking through the path of the traps to reach the Amazonian Kichwa communities. An adventure full of culture and landscapes that recreate magical places that enchant the visitor.

Our tours start in different cities of Ecuador, mainly in the cities of Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito.

DETAILS

DAY ONE

00:00:  Departure from Calderon Park next to the "New Cathedral", located on Mariscal Sucre and Benigno malo streets.

 7:30: Breakfast in Baños de Agua Santa.   

 08:30: We begin the adventure visiting the world famous Tree House and the swing at the end of the world, on the way we will also visit one of the biggest swings in Ecuador called "Fantasies of Flying".

10:00: We will visit a family business where they make traditional sweets, in this site we will learn about the process for the preparation of different types of sweets, which can also be purchased at the factory store.

10:30 The adventure continues along the route of the waterfalls where you can observe and take impressive pictures with the waterfall El Agoyán, the Manto de la Novia waterfall where we will also make a tour in the Tarabita and in Rio Verde we will hike the long route to reach the Pailón del Diablo waterfall.

13:30: Lunch at rio Verde.  

14:00: Transfer to the Tena.

18:30 Check In at the Tena Hotel, located next to the Malecon, where there is a wide variety of gastronomic options to choose from.

SECOND DAY

7:00: Breakfast.

8:00: Caminata inside the Jumandy Caves (1 hour approx. - 1.5 km), accompanied by a local guide expert in the area. In this tour you will be able to take a relaxing bath in the different waterfalls that exist inside the cave.

10:00: A tour through the trail of the traps accompanied by a Shaman and a visit to the Amazonian Kichwa community Chichikuamaru. In the community you will learn about the coffee preparation process, traditional dances and more surprises that we have prepared for you...

12:00: Traditional lunch in the community.

13:00: Canoe trip on the Napo River to Puerto Misahualli where you will have the opportunity to buy handicrafts and visit the port.

15:00 Return to the city of Cuenca.

WHAT TO BRING?

  • Adventure in Baños:

    • Change of clothes for the visit to the Pailón del Diablo waterfall and poncho (optional).
    • Hat, insect repellent and sunscreen.
    • Light bag to stock up on drinks and other supplies needed for the hike.

  • Jumandy Cave Adventure:

    • Bathing suit or comfortable clothes to get completely wet as these caverns have a river and subway waterfalls.
    • For the hike in the caves, leave all jewelry, watches, cameras, cell phones, rings, etc. any personal and electronic objects of value.
    • For this adventure, hats, repellents, sunscreen and bags are not necessary.
    • Bring clothes to change into after the activity.
